Engineering trust

Trust comes from a visible chain of evidence.

A polished answer is not the same as a verified engineering decision. Cranelume is designed to show where a value came from, what remains provisional and who must review it.

Four evidence levels, kept distinct

Deterministic output

A repeatable result produced by a tested engineering function from explicit inputs.

Verified source

A controlled technical reference reviewed by the project owner for the intended use.

Public catalogue data

Vendor or market information that may change and requires freshness checks.

Demo assumption

A transparent placeholder used to demonstrate workflow, never presented as customer truth.

The calculation boundary

Language models can help people navigate information, but numeric engineering results remain inside deterministic functions. This boundary is a product architecture rule, not a marketing preference.

Explicit inputs

The reviewer can see what went into the function.

Repeatable outputs

The same valid inputs produce the same engineering result.

Warnings remain visible

Missing or out-of-range conditions are surfaced for review.

Human approval remains the final gate

Cranelume supports quotation engineering; it does not certify a crane, verify site conditions or authorize manufacture. Qualified engineers and the responsible company retain those duties.
